HOIMA — South Sudan’s Patriot Basketball Club lost 79–84 to Burundi’s Urunani in its Road to BAL game on Thursday, 22 October, according to FIBA’s official match listing.

FIBA’s match-report summary records 17 points for Dixon and 16 for Makoi. The five-point margin left Patriot without an opening win despite a competitive contest.

The Hoima event runs from 21–25 October at Hoima City Arena, according to Uganda’s host announcement. It forms part of the qualification route towards the Basketball Africa League.

This result concerns Patriot’s club campaign. It should not be added to the Bright Stars national team’s international record.

For the next report, the priorities are the confirmed fixture list, updated group standings and the official box score. Qualification prospects should be assessed against those records rather than inferred from a single result.

A close defeat can identify areas to review, but the score alone does not reveal why the game was lost. Turnovers, rebounding and late possessions require the complete game record before drawing tactical conclusions.

Final: Patriot 79, Urunani 84. Date: 22 October 2026. Venue: Hoima, Uganda. Official FIBA score listing checked.
