Juba County Commissioner Visits Don Bosco Vocational School After Fence Concerns
The county press unit says caretaker commissioner Kalisto Lado Faustino visited Don Bosco St. Vincent in Rajaf Payam on Thursday, 15 October, after the church raised security concerns.
According to the office’s statement, the church administration alleged that people suspected of land grabbing had tried to obstruct construction of a perimeter fence around its vocational training school. The allegation and ownership of the disputed land have not been independently assessed or adjudicated in the materials supplied to South Sudan Press.
The statement says the commissioner pledged county support for the institution and warned against illegal occupation of land and public spaces. He also called on roadside traders to move to designated market areas and said the county would turn its attention to Gumbo after addressing Kuburi Haboba.
The public-interest questions extend beyond the visit: what survey and title records define the school’s boundary, whether a complaint was filed, how traders will be notified or supported if relocated, and what legal process will precede any enforcement. Don Bosco’s own account and responses from people accused of encroachment should be sought.
